Terms of Service

Effective August 13, 2026

The short version

CareBoard is a free tool that helps families coordinate care for a loved one. Use it kindly, don't rely on it for medical decisions, and remember that your family's content belongs to your family.

Not medical advice

CareBoard does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is a coordination tool — a shared family notebook — not a medical record system, and it is not a HIPAA-covered entity. Always consult a qualified health professional for medical questions, and call emergency services in an emergency. Never delay care because of something recorded in CareBoard.

Free service, provided as-is

CareBoard is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free, and we are not liable for losses arising from your use of it, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Your content

Everything your family enters belongs to your family. You give us permission to store and display it to your family members — that's the entire purpose of the app — and nothing more.

Acceptable use

Only join families you've been invited to, don't attempt to access other families' data, and don't use CareBoard for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or other people.

Changes and discontinuation

We may update these terms or discontinue the service; if we ever plan to shut down, we'll give reasonable notice so your family can export what it needs.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict of law rules.
